Every city in Jonzy's catalog includes curated monthly costs for one person in USD, built from rent benchmarks, local price surveys, and nomad-community feedback.
Six cost categories
Rent (one-bedroom, expat-nomad neighbourhoods), food, transport, healthcare, utilities, and misc (coworking, mobile, leisure). Totals are sums of these six, comparable across all cities.
Income and surplus
Jonzy converts your income to USD, applies estimated tax for your job type, subtracts total living costs, and surfaces monthly surplus or shortfall. That drives affordability filters and Life Upgrade Score.
Community validation
Signed-in users can submit cost feedback. When three or more reports agree, Jonzy shows a community median on city pages, layered on top of catalog baselines.

Catalog defaults target a single person. Family mode in the app adjusts housing and budget for children; public city pages show the single-person baseline.
Which currency are costs in?
Catalog costs are stored in USD for comparison. In the app, figures convert to your home currency using live or cached exchange rates.
How often is data updated?
City baselines update with catalog releases. Community medians refresh as users submit feedback. Visa and tax data are monitored via admin pipelines.
